Bamboo Carriage Flooring

I. What Is Bamboo Carriage Flooring

Bamboo carriage flooring is a new type of vehicle flooring material made from bamboo through over 20 production processes, including splitting, carbonization, drying, gluing, pressing, trimming, and polishing. It can be used for truck carriage floors, side walls, and tailgates, replacing traditional steel or hardwood materials. It has already been applied in heavy-duty trucks from manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Ford, and General Motors.

II. Key Features

1. High Strength and Lightweight

Bamboo-based composites achieve a flexural strength of over 120 MPa and a flexural modulus of over 13000 MPa, significantly outperforming traditional hardwoods. With lower density, bamboo flooring effectively reduces vehicle weight, contributing to improved payload capacity and fuel efficiency.

2. Excellent Dimensional Stability

The 24-hour water absorption expansion rate of bamboo flooring is only about 1%, far lower than that of hardwood (4%–5%)

3. Superior Durability

Bamboo inherently offers excellent impact resistance and corrosion resistance. It is pest-free and does not crack, Research has shown that bamboo composite flooring successfully withstands 400 fatigue cycles on trailer test platforms.

4. Environmentally Friendly and Sustainable

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth, reaching harvestable maturity in just 5 years. It is abundant and renewable. Promoting "bamboo instead of wood" effectively alleviates the pressure of depleting high-quality hardwood resources and aligns with the global trend toward low-carbon environmental sustainability.
